USA Gambling Industry Set Revenue Record In Q3 2021
- $12.05 billion of the Q3 revenue was from traditional gaming such as slots and table games.
- Despite a gaming industry record high, sports betting hit a quarterly low for 2021 in Q3 of 2021.
LAS VEGAS - The reported revenue for the nationwide commercial gaming industry in the third quarter of 2021 has broken a new record.
According to a report from the American Gaming Association, the revenue for the commercial gaming industry broke an all-time high record.
In Q3 2021, the nationwide commercial gaming revenue broke a new quarterly record of $13.89 billion.
This also marks the second consecutive quarter that the nationwide commercial gaming revenue has set records.
“Two straight quarters of record gaming revenue is an incredible accomplishment in any context, let alone after the most challenging year in industry history,” stated Bill Miller, President and CEO of the American Gaming Association.
The Breakdown
The majority of the quarterly revenue record came from more traditional forms of gambling. Slot and table games alone generated $12.05 billion of the industry's overall quarterly performance.
The massive $13.89 billion quarterly revenue also benefitted from a record iGaming revenue of $938.6 million.
Sports betting revenue fell off to a quarterly low for 2021 however, only generating $886.5 million.
The United States legal gambling industry is in full swing, and stands to grow even further. With the NFL season happening primarily during Q4 of 2021, the sports betting industry will contribute even more to the overall industry's revenue.
