PHILADELPHIA - With the coronavirus pandemic still in full swing, all land-based casinos were ordered to close. In an effort to recoup some of the financial losses that come with those closures, Caesars Entertainment Corp. has launched an online casino in Pennsylvania on Tuesday.
Caesars Pennsylvania
Caesars picked a great time to launch their legal gambling site in Pennsylvania as the revenue for online casinos has been rising due to the coronavirus.
With the closing of the 12 retail casinos in the state, the online gaming revenue has risen 24.5% from February to March. The total revenue amount from March is $24.3 million.
The launch of their online casino comes shortly after a not so hot start to their online sportsbook on March 10. The Caesars sportsbook brought in just $139,790. That revenue amount was a loss for the company after they weighed in what they had lost from their promotional offers.
There are a few promotional offers for the online casino Caesars launched. They are rewarding 1,000 online credits to those Pennsylvania gamblers that sign up before Friday. They are also matching 100% of initial deposits for new users up to $300.
For casino goers looking to enjoy the newly launched online casino, they should keep in mind that it is only available on a desktop computer and Android Smartphone for now. It is expected that they launch a version for Apple users as well.
The Caesars online casino has become the ninth online casino that is operating in Pennsylvania.
