Tallahassee, Fla. – Bleacher Report is coming off the bench and is about to go all in on US sports betting.
The sports content company, which is a unit of AT&T’s Warner Media division, is set to premiere its sports betting themed show later this summer.
In February, Turner Sports signed a deal with Caesars Entertainment Group to allow Bleacher Report to host the show inside one of their Las Vegas properties.
The program is expected to reach 250 million people, which includes those who follow Bleacher Report through social media.
“We are commingling with the data we have about usage, experience and what consumers want with Caesars Data, which is some of the most powerful and cumulative data in the world for sports betting,” said Bleacher Report Chief Executive Howard Mittman.
The rise of sports betting throughout the US works in Bleacher Report’s favor.
Bleacher Report has always been targeted towards the Millennial and Gen Z audience and a recent study conducted by the company found that nearly two in three sports fans ages 21-34 find the activity to be socially acceptable.
“Because we have an app that has almost 20 million downloads, 9.5 million consumers receiving alerts from us anywhere from five to 20 times per day, we sit on a lot of first-party data,” said Mittman. “We understand what consumers are doing. We like to think of the app as the heartbeat of the American sports fan.”
There are currently eight states with active full-service sportsbooks. Several other states, including New York, are awaiting to launch sports betting operations as well.
There are also several states which recently legalized sports betting including Montana, Iowa, and Indiana. More states are expected to join legal gambling in the USA this year as well.
According to Bleacher Report, their sports betting category has expanded fast and grown three times more than any other category.
